Selena ¡Vive! was a tribute concert in 2005 for the tenth anniversary of the death of Tejano singer Selena.

I took these photos and video the day before of the concert as well as in the concert with my first ever digital camera, which was a boxy looking HP that was a printer/camera bundle. As you can tell from the graininess, not the best quality.


Music:  First song is Amor Prohibido by Thalia which is on the Selena ¡Vive! tribute concert album as well as on Thalia's albums El Sexto Sentido and El Sexto Sentido Re+Loaded.

Second song is a medley of the songs Como la Flor, La Carcacha, Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, and Baila Esta Cumbia by Selena that you can find with the title Cumbia Medley (Live At Houston Astrodome) on the album Selena: The Soundtrack [Soundtrack].

Target does it again! For the second year in a row, over 100 #TargetVolunteers, including myself as the Route Manager leading both the De-Staging & Crowd Control teams, volunteered their time and effort as Crowd Control and at De-Staging! Volunteers helped ensure that participants and spectators had a safe and enjoyable Parade!

I've always wanted to take video of the clouds while in flight and finally did it on my say to San Antonio, Texas, USA from Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

I used just my regular point-and-shoot Fujifilm Finepix AX300 camera.

The sounds of the plane and watching the clouds is very soothing and relaxing to me, almost like autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR).

Apple, Banana, & Nut Muffins/Bread!

Yesterday, Saturday, September 16, 2017, I made these delicious muffins and bread with apple, banana, and nuts!

Ingredients:

1 Cup Apple, cooked down & mashed
1 Banana, large and very ripe
1 Stick (1/2 cup) Butter, softened
1 Egg
1 Cup of Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 2/3 Cups Flour
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Nuts, Pecans

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Mix and combine all ingredients.  Grease your bakeware. I like coconut oil for this. Bake for 20-25 minutes for muffins and 60-70 minutes for bread. Adjust cook time depending on your oven. Allow to cool before serving.

Eagle Pass Pride Parade 2017!

On Sunday, October 15, 2017 the First Ever Pride Parade in Eagle Pass, Texas, USA will take place.

That's, right yawl!

This Inaugural Eagle Pass Pride Parade is presented by the Eagle Pass Sexuality Advocacy For Everyone (S.A.F.E) and is followed by a Pride Festival. I believe they've had one or two previous festivals, so this may be their third?

I think it's amazing that the little town I'm form is having this. When I was growing up in Eagle Pass, there weren't any events like these and really nowhere, at least that I knew of, that you could go to an be yourself. Probably would have helped me coming out while I was still there instead after I left. Small towns/cities , in my opinion, need events like these even more.

The theme is Love Without Borders and I'm hoping to be able to go watch it.

It's Been a While!

Well, it's been a while hasn't it?!

Nothing written/posted since 2015 on this blog. I haven't disappeared just I suppose less focused, however still posting, but more on Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etcetera. Truthfully, not sure that I'll be posting many written blogs, however I've been working mostly on YouTube videos.

Now, my YouTube videos are just my home-type videos that sometimes are just photo collages with music. I don't intend to be one of those who constantly asks to subscribe, although it would be great if I hade more subscribers, but only so that at some point I could have a custom YouTube URL and perhaps at some point be able to monetize a few.

Because of that, I'm starting to edit my videos a little bit, however I want them to stay looking like home videos. I feel like YouTube has lost some of its charm because everyone is so focused on getting people to subscribe to make money, which I totally get. I mean I'd like that too, however it's not my main focus.

My main focus is really just sharing moments, recipes, festivals, and really just experiences that were nice and special to me and perhaps those around me. It takes a lot for me to be able to get the energy to even go to events so the few that I go to I do my best to take photos and/or videos. It also takes me a long time to focus to then share those photos and/or videos.

Separately, a while back I got a website Amalgam Creative Arts with the intention of sharing a fusion of Arts and Crafts. It's just a landing page, and will probably be that for a while, because as I mentioned, it takes me a while to get things done. I did however manage to create a Twitter, Instagram, Facebook page, and YouTube Channel to go along with it.

Finally, my new posts here will be mostly of my videos and photo collages. Hope you enjoy, I know I will.

For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed doing something for Halloween. Trick-or-Treating when I was young, coloring, decorating, giving out candy, now that I'm older, and/or dressing up.

When I was young I always wanted to be a vampire. My grandmother even made me a cape. Any photos, if they exist are likely in old albums either in my home in Texas or perhaps at my grandmother's house in Mexico.

Although I'd already been living in Arizona for a few years, in 2005 after having lived in apartments, we rented a house and had a Halloween house warming party. This was when I started taking more photos because I purchased my first digital camera. Having a digital camera  really made me take more photos than I ever did before. Thinking back I wish I had taken more videos with it also. The camera was a boxy HP that came as a bundle with photo printer. 

If I come across any photos prior to 2005, i'll scan and perhaps make a photo/video collage .
