Tempe Tardeada 2008!

Tempe Tardeada 2008!
=========================
From October 12, 2008
=========================

The Tempe Tardeada is a festival celebrating Tempe's Hispanic culture and community that takes place yearly the Tempe Community Complex, which is where the Tempe History Museum is located.

You'll notice that the first image is of the title/header they used that year, while the second image shows the quick info I put together to encourage people to attend the event. If I remember correctly, this may have been the first time I attended, or at least the first time I went and took photos.

The info from their site as of December 2024:

https://www.tempe.gov/government/community-services/tempe-history-museum/events/tempe-tardeada

About Tardeada

A tardeada is a social dance that is traditionally held on Sunday afternoons.  This event is the culmination of Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrates the historical significance of Hispanics within our community.

Tempe's Tardeada festival usually offers traditional and modern Hispanic dancing and music, tortilla-making demonstrations, a look at Tempe's historic Hispanic roots, food trucks, activities for the children and more. It's a chance for families from throughout Tempe to gather and spend time with each other.

Populous: The Beginning - The Menu & Unveiling the Intro Story!

One of my favorite games is Populous: The Beginning, which I've been playing since 1998.

I love the unique blend of strategy and simulation, especially the building aspect. As a shaman, I guide my tribe by shaping the land, creating structures, and using powers to expand and defend. The satisfaction of constructing settlements, enhancing my tribe’s abilities, and strategically growing the population while overcoming challenges is what makes the game so engaging. It’s a perfect mix of creativity, planning, and tactical gameplay.

PS: Decided that, although I've extracted/screen recorded this in December 2024, this will go chronologically as part of the year 1998.  I got the game for PC and got it almost as soon as it was released and still have the disc for this stored. I don't remember the exact date I got it; however, according to ChatGPT, the original release date is October 31, 1998. Wikipedia lists it as November 17, 1998, and on Steam, the most recent version shows as November 26, 1998. Therefore, I'll list it chronologically as October 31st.

LONGie SONGies - Dance Party

Longie SONGies - Dance Party
=========================
To watch/listen, go to https://youtu.be/Eabw338N1D0
=========================

LONGie SONGies is the name that I gave this mixtape. On the inside of the sleeve, in addition to the title, I wrote the date 1-20-97, checked the CD as the source, and Dance Party twice on the Side A section. Nothing was recorded on Side B. This means that this is a mix that came from a CD and only recorded up to what would fit on Side A.

Now, I don't remember having a CD titled Dance Party, therefore this may have come from a CD or other compilation that somebody let me borrow that I then recorded. The change to each track is quite noticeable as well. Additionally, this is a mixtape that, though I listened to on occasion, didn't have as much play as others as you can tell by the tape, sleeve, and jewel case being in almost pristine condition.

Though I tried to gather as much information as possible for this recording, I wasn't able to find a definitive source for all the music on this mashup even after YouTube, Google, Gemini, and ChatGPT assistance. Therefore, the song list may not be completely accurate.

=========================
From October 5, 2008
=========================

These are the photos that I took during my participation in the 2008 City of Hope Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer in Arizona that went through the Phoenix Zoo.

We walked along with many of the #TargetVolunteers and we were given specially designed Target t-shirts that were pink and had a puppy version of the Target mascot Bullseye that included hearts.

Didn't take any photos of myself this year, however this time we did take a few more including some in the zoo.

AIDS Walk Arizona 2008!
=========================
From October 5, 2008
=========================

This is the one photo taken during the 2008 Phoenix AIDS Walk. At least the only one that was shared because, although I didn't participate in this event because I was at a different volunteer event that today, I did put together the communications related to it. So here you have the photo, the photo which I edited to have a frame, and image of the recap communication.

Phoenix AIDS Walk 2008 Recap

On Sunday, October 5, 2008 after 5 years Phoenix welcomed back the AIDS walk back to the valley.  The 5K AIDS walk in downtown Phoenix drew 5,000 people and raised over $150,000.  The funds will be distributed equally among 16 local organizations that provide direct services to people living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

Local agencies benefiting from the AIDS Walk are: AGAPE Network, AIDS Network of Arizona, Bill Holt Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital, Chicanos Por la Causa, Compassion in Action, Concilio Latino de Salud, Ebony House, HIV Care Directions, Joshua Tree Feeding Program, Inc., Native American Community Health Center, Phoenix Shanti Group, Project Hard Hat, Southwest Behavioral Health, Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS and TERROS, Inc.

Target volunteers arrived at 6am and had the first contact with walkers coming in to register for the walk.  Thank you to everyone who helped make Phoenix AIDS walk 2008 a success!

These are two photos of me trying a couple of masks, taken on the 1st of October, 2008 during an initial venture to find a Halloween Costume. Neither of them ultimately made it to be part of my costume, but nonetheless they were some neat masks.

There are two videos you can watch if you'd like to see the costume I ended up wearing.

These are photos from a day trip that we took through North AZ with stops at the Petrified Forest National Park where we saw the petrified dinosaur bones and poop. There were also dinosaur pay prints. On our way back we ran across a carnival and the a stop at the casino of the Tonto Apache Tribe.

This drive through the northern AZ desert, the clouds, the forest, etc. was most enjoyable.

=========================
From September 21, 2008

On the 21st of September, 2008 we attended the HAPA concert at the Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. The concert was part of the Target World Music Festival.

Because cameras weren't allowed inside only have these few of the outside of the venue.

"Target World Music Festival" / HAPA
The Phoenix Symphony and the Target Corporation team up to bring you the very best of the world's music.  Come witness the influences and inspiration that have shaped societies as well as the grand orchestral tradition.

About HAPA:

Barry Flanagan and Keli'i Ho'omalu Kaneali'i combine to form a lush and harmonic fresh new approach to Hawaiian music. They add the modern touches to the traditional Hawaiian music and have received several awards internationally. "HAPA" is pidgin for "half"--Barry Flannagan is not Hawaiian and Keli'i Ho'omalu Kaneali'i is. In the past they have teamed up with such greats as Steven Stills. Their first album was the top selling Hawaiian music album in the history of Hawaiian music.

Brownies & Banana Bread for School Bake Sale! - September 5, 2008

Brownies & Banana Bread for School Bake Sale!
=========================
From September 5, 2008
=========================

These are photos of the brownies and banana bread made for a school fundraiser. As you can see, each slice was placed on a mini plate and individually packaged, with a simple red ribbon bow tied for a touch of charm and embellishment.

The brownies were from a box mix and the banana bread from a recipe that I found online at the time, no idea from where anymore, that is soo good that I've used it ever since because it is simple, delicious and easy to modify.

Here is the recipe:

1 Large Very Ripe Banana
1 Egg with enough milk to make One Cup of Liquid
1 stick butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
Nuts (if desired)

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until it is all just incorporated and there are no lumps, ensuring to no mix too long or bread will come out too firm.

Grease bread pan and fill with mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 55 minutes until golden brown and toothpick test for doneness.

Variations/modifications that I have made throughout the years:

- pumpkin puree, apple butter instead of or in addition to banana
- alternative milks instead of regular cow's milk
- coconut oil instead of butter.
- 1/2 cup sugar or 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup honey. This particular substitution works best if you decide to use apple butter.

*Note that any substitution will require that you adjust your baking time, specially if you decide to make muffins or mini loafs and depending on your oven, altitude, etc.

Home and Away! ~ WNBA Phoenix Mercury vs Minneapolis Lynx
=========================
From September 3, 2008
=========================

These are photos of the WNBA game that took place on the 3rd of September, 2008, between the Phoenix Mercury and the Minnesota Lynx. The game was held in the US Airways Center.

This was a special diversity social outing by the Target Tempe Diversity & Inclusion Business Council that I was a member of.

All the photos up to the ticket stubs are ones that I took, and the ones after that are from Robin.

Fun Fact: The photo of Scorch, the mascot of the Phoenix Mercury team, where he is very close, with the hand raised like as in waving, was seconds before the mascot fell on top of me. The photo right after is so close because that's moments as the Scorch got up to continue upwards. This is something I would forever remember even if I didn't have photos.

Reventon Super Estrella 2008!

=========================
From August 8th-10th, 2008
=========================

These photos were taken in 2008 from August 8th through the 10th during a weekend road trip taken from Phoenix, AZ to California for the Reventon Super Estrella 2008 that took place at the Home Depot Center on the 9th of August.

This event started at 2:30PM and was a concert with a plethora of singers, bands, and DJs. The titular acts were:

Alejandro Fernandez
Juanes
Julieta Venegas
Don Omar
Belanova
La Factoria y Eddy Lover
Playa Limbo
Beto Cuevas
Banda Machos
El Reencuentro

Back then most of us didn't have camera phones, so the photos we took were with the digital cameras we had at the time. My particular camera was a Sony Cybershot, which was my second ever digital camera. Though I still have it, it no longer works properly. The photos that you see on this video are the ones taken with said camera and do not include any from the concert itself because the event said no cameras were allowed. In retrospect, I should have still taken my camera with me as there were many people that took theirs and the didn't check at the gates.

On the plus side, some of the friends I went with did take their cameras into the concert and they shared their photos via the then version of Facebook, therefore, I will be making video collages from those as well. The event also shared photos of the concert goers via their website, so I will also be making a compilation video of those photos.

Additionally, I still have some of the memorabilia, ticket stub, etc. of which will be taking photos/videos of to also share. Stay tuned!

Mixed Mess - Alfa Dance Club - Alfa Dance Club Megamix

Mixed Mess - Alfa Dance Club - Alfa Dance Club Megamix

Mixed Mess - Alfa Dance Club - Alfa Dance Club Megamix

This is mix tape that I titled Mixed Mess on Side A, then wrote Alfa Dance club on top in the spaces between it. On Side B I wrote it as Alfa Dance Club Megamix (cont.)

This leads me to believe that I made some sort of mix tape that was a mess and the decided to record the Alfa Dance Club Megamix on top of it.

A brief online search revealed that this is from the 1996 cassette/CD Alfa Dance Club Megamixes, which features two megamixes.

Side A includes the entire first megamix and a portion of the second one. Side B has the rest of the second megamix. Because there was additional space on the cassette, it appears that I decided to some additional songs to make use of it.

Even though it's uploaded as a single track for your uninterrupted listening, it remains as unedited as possible to capture the genuine experience of listening on a cassette player, including the moment of stopping to flip the tape.

Piano/Sax - Vals - Thalia

Piano/Sax - Vals - Thalia
=========================
=========================

This is a cassette tape with a mix of songs that will give you a small glimpse to some of the music that I enjoyed in my teenage years.

Though I don't have the exact date of when this collection of songs was copied onto the cassette, it would have been sometime at the end of 1995 or maybe 1996 because the songs by Thalia were from the album En éxtasis, which originally released on the 12th of September of 1995.

The mid nineties were my teen years and very much enjoyed (and still do) piano, saxophone, telenovelas, video games, sci-fi/action/superhero movies, and music by Thalia. As a teen with little money at my disposal, getting any new music had to be a bit selective. Many of the purchased cassettes of new music were the compilation ones.

I'd slowly started transitioning to getting a few CDs with the En éxtasis album by Thalia one of the very first ones. That's where Maria La Del Barrio, Piel Morena (Remix), and Juana came from. Maria Mercedes and Marimar came from a compilation cassette with Thalia songs titled, "20 Kilates Musicales." A future upload.

The Vals Del Pueblo from Corazon S is how I wrote that entry on the cassette sleeve. I am fairly sure that it was from Corazon Salvaje, which was a telenovela, however not sure if it was from a cassette or CD. It is also unclear to me if the piano and saxophone songs originally came from a CD or cassette. If the original source is located, then that'll be another future upload. One thing that is for certain is that in my mind that was the bridge song for this mixed tape to switch from the piano/sax to the telenovela and Thalia songs.

These songs were enjoyed being listened to many, many times via my portable cassette player, hence the noticeable distortion on the first few tracks.

From Beale Street to  Target House: A Memphis Volunteer Journey!

This is the title of a series of upcoming photo/video collages that I've been working on for the photos and videos taken during the all expense paid volunteer trip to Memphis, Tennessee, US that took place August 2008.

  You may have already seen the couple of videos I'd previously uploaded. In fact, the first ever video that I uploaded to YouTube was from this particular trip.

Billy Bob playing with a local band in Memphis, TN, USA - August 3, 2008

The two other videos previously uploaded that you may have already seen, were from another volunteer, Zhil, who flew in from Shanghai, China.

El Morro - Morro Mix! | Lado A

El Morro - Morro Mix! | Lado A

This is the Side A of the Morro Mix cassette by El Morro. Although the cassette had no date/year listed on it, this cassette appears to have been originally released in 1994.

You may remember that on the 30th of December or 2023, I shared a short video of me listening to this cassette. Morro Mix! https://youtube.com/shorts/xTgyXI5x2Vc

That post received encouragement from Narciso Ramirez https://www.youtube.com/@narcisoramirez3283 to upload the rest of the songs. A channel that features clear and crisp recordings of many of the El Morro collection.

It was that bit of rallying which motivated me to truly look into finally strapping on to digitizing my small physical media collection, ultimately leading me to create the Analog Musings paylist.

You can read more about that on the Analog Musings post.  https://elkirbster.blogspot.com/2024/06/analog-musings.html

Because many of my cassettes were played constantly and the majority of them have travelled with me to the many places I've lived, some have degraded in quality.

Additionally, my digitization will include little to no editing, therefore you will hear this, and future uploads, as if you were playing it on your own cassette player. In my opinion it adds to the mood.

On July 3rd, our sweet Hello Kitty got her real wings.

On July 3rd, our sweet Hello Kitty got her real wings. She was with us for 20 years and 4 months in human years.

Miss Hello was soft and warm, loving and occasionally sassy, affectionate, and new what she liked/wanted.

She brought so much joy during her time with us. The house feels empty without her and will take some time to get used to her not being around.

Hello Kitty now joins all of her litter, who had passed years before her. May she be at peace.

Radio Music! - 2da Edición

Radio Music! - 2da Edición

This is a second edition of the recording from 1997 from a radio station that was called Crystal FM from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.

After the initial digitization of this recording, I continued to digitize my small cassette collection to be shared throughout the rest of the year. Some of the cassettes were in better shape than others, therefore some of the recordings have that distinct sound of when a cassette tape is wearing off. Additionally some had volume issues.

When the video for the original Radio Music cassette recording was created, I was able to use the video editing software to help with the volume issue. However, ultimately decided to go back to the original digitization of the Radio Music cassette recording to enhance the volume a bit and cut some of the dead air.

The edit itself was minimal and unlikely that it will be noticeable once uploaded to YouTube, however decided that before the continuation of new monthly uploads of Analog Musings, I would create a second edition of the Radio Music cassette recording.

Going forward, the hope is to have just one edition of my cassette tape recordings, and not have multiple editions/versions of them.

Another thing that I decided to fix a bit was the visual transitions on the video/display portion from song to song. They are now better synchronized to each song change.

So here you now have a slightly shorter and arguably better edited video of the Radio Music cassette recording from 1997.

You may also know that, because I'm a bit of an introvert and procrastinator, uploading videos cane take me time and in no particular order. There'll be a a period of almost daily uploads and then nothing for a while.

So this is just a note to say that I'm going to attempt to upload a new video at least once a month. The monthly uploads will be mostly for the Analog Musings playlist and in between those the typical No Tan Diario Chronicles chronology type of uploads.

Phoenix Public Market!

Whenever possible, I've enjoyed going to local farmer's markets.

When living in the Phoenix-Metro area, the Phoenix Public Market was one of my favorites because it featured locally grown produce as well as other items made by local artisans and it ensured that only locally grown and made items were sold.

Though didn't typically take photos of when visiting markets, took these three photos on this particular occasion. The first one was announcement that they would be opening the Phoenix Public Market Store, the second one showing construction some downtown buildings in the area, and the third announcing that the featured chefs for the day were, Betty Fraser and Richard Blais, from Top Chef.

Radio Music!

Radio Music!

This is a recording circa 1997 from a radio station that was called Crystal FM from Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.

It kicks off my new playlist titled Analog Musings that will feature digitized versions of cassette tapes and vinyl records that have been part of my life at one point or another.  You can read more about that on the Analog Musings post. https://elkirbster.blogspot.com/2024/06/analog-musings.html

This was a fitting first start to this because Crystal FM was one of the radio stations that I listened to often growing up on the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas, US.

The songs of this compilation were originally released between 1996 and 1997. This particular recording from the radio was in 1997.

 After the first two songs, the radio DJ provides the date in  Spanish as 23rd of February of 1997, before they play the last song for the night. No info on when the rest of the songs were recorded, but likely around the same time period.

TV Converter Box Coupon Program!

=========================
From July 8, 2008
=========================

TV Converter Box Coupon Program!

These are photos that I took of the coupon cards that were received as part of the TV Converter Box Coupon Program.

Some of you may not remember or perhaps are too young to have even gone through this, but there was a time when televisions weren't digital.

Back when the TV signals were changing to digital, there was a program that you could apply for to get two coupons to use towards the purchase of two Digital Converter Boxes. This was so that those of us who didn't have digital televisions could still use our old TVs and be able to get the local digital channels.

These are the two coupons/cards that I received. Took a photo of them on 8th of July of 2008 before going to the store to get my digital converter boxes.

I'm fairly sure that I still have the digital converter boxes in their original boxes in a storage box somewhere. Once located, I may make a short unboxing of them.

Audio: The first few seconds of "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" By The Darkness, slowed down in order to create a bit of static type effect. To this I stacked, "Static From Radio Via RCA Cassette Player" recorded by Myself/Elkirbster from Amalgam Creative Arts, in order to add another layer of static to give that TV static type effect.

Random thought/question, does anybody else find static relaxing?

Analog Musings

=========================
Analog Musings
=========================

For some time now I've had in my mind the desire to digitize my small collection of music and videos. Cassettes, VHS, Vinyl, and maybe even some DVDs and early Blu-Ray Discs.

Several years ago I got a device to digitize VHS recordings. For whatever reason haven't really worked on that. At some point will get into it.

I've now also acquired a device to digitize cassettes and vinyl. This time, I'm actually working on it. Slowly, but working on it nonetheless.

I've created a new playlist titled Analog Musings that will specifically include music/audio of such type recordings. Stay Tuned.

---The preceding was written and shared on No Tan Diario Chronicles YouTube a day ago, 16th of June of 2024. I decided it should also be cross-posted here and to add a bit more of my thought process.

For a moment, I thought of creating a separate channel for them as they won't necessarily fit my other playlists. If you've been to my channel, you've likely learned that all videos go into their own dedicated playlist where videos are organized from most recent date of event to oldest. This past year, 2024, I created An Evolving Upload Journey playlist that includes every video in the order of creation/upload (except for Amalgam Creative Arts videos because, although I do have a playlist with all the videos organized from date of creation/upload, those really go on their own channel) as well as A Chronological Journey where videos are organized from oldest date of event (this one also excludes Amalgam Creative Arts in addition to the Memories of Yore: Photos From My Mother's Camera). So where on my timeline would I include these. Would it be date of release date? Date of mixtape creation? Mixtapes may have various dates as they were made, particularly when it was recorded from the radio.

Another brief thought was to add them on my Amalgam Creative Arts channel, however, because Amalgam Creative Arts is about the creating of arts, crafts, lotions, potions, and more, it really wouldn't fit there. I want to keep that channel specifically about the creativity and inspiration of making and crating all sorts or art, arts, crafts, etc. that comes from my mind and a few of those around me.

Ultimately, decided to include them on my No Tan Diario Chornicles channel because, although they are not specific videos/photos of a particular event/trip/celebration/etc., they are part of what someone could call the soundtrack of my life. Music and audio enjoyed at some moment of my life.

Therefore, in between creating/uploading my now typical video/photo collages chronicling my life, you'll get to watch/listen to some of the music that I've enjoyed.

One thing's for sure is that in addition to them being on their own playlist, they will also go on the An Evolving Upload Journey since that one includes all videos (except for Amalgam Creative Arts).

P.S. At some point something similar to this will be done with the old VHS cassettes, and perhaps even DVDs, Blu-rays, and any old audio/video that is on physical media. Because my old physical media isn't huge, then at some point I may include also what has been gifted to me overtime. Even further may also decide some of the old non-analog audio/video from before streaming really got to be mainstream.

Summer BBQ & Pool Party at Pedro's!

=========================
From June 28, 2008
=========================

Summer BBQ & Pool Party at Pedro's!

These are photos from the BBQ & Pool Party that took place at Pedro's house in Summer of 2008.

You may see a few repeated ones as we had shared these and in that process of then saving a copy of them I ended up with a few repeats. Decided I'd just leave them as is.

These are some nostalgic memories as most of us no longer keep in touch and some have passed on. Some delightful memories for sure as these were some of the best times with co-worker friends outside of work with some of us spending more time together than others.

At times, I've also thought of adding the names of each person on the photos on many of the videos/collages made, however, ultimately choose not to as some may not want that. So, you'll likely continue seeing videos/collages that may occasionally reference the name of a person on titles, but not on the images themselves. Hopefully, I/we won't forget who they are.

For memory's sake on this one, Pedro is the one wearing the palm tree apron.

The brush fire smoke could be seen throughout the valley/Phoenix-Metro and specially from South Phoenix, Tempe, Ahwatukee, and Chandler areas that were our main stomping grounds when living/working in Arizona. These are the quick snapshots taken during one of the drives home from work.

Reading Kit Assembly with United Way!

On the 21st of June of 2008 I volunteered with the #TargetVolunteers to assemble reading kits at a local United Way office.

We organized the books and assembled the boxes they would be delivered in. It was a fun activity with some of my co-workers at the time. One thing I remember is a few paper cuts assembling those boxes.

Backup you stuff!

Just a quick post to say that haven't uploaded any new recent photo/videos because for a moment there it appeared that my computer was dead or going to die.

A while back the external drive I had my photos/vids/etc. started making a clicking sound and so before it died completely I transferred everything onto the drive of the computer itself. It also included the majority of my Amalgam Creative Arts ones.

The intent was to get a replacement external drive to then transfer them to, because the computer itself was almost just as old as that drive.

So on the 9th of May of 2024 I upload a photo video creation to No Tan Diario Chronicles and two, one posted and one pending to post in June, for Amalgam Creative Arts, then the next day the laptop would only boot into a black screen.

After several attempts to reboot and still just black screen I'd almost given up hope of being able to recover any of them. So took a few days to research and get a replacement hard drive and even to determine perhaps a new computer.

Once I'd gotten a new hard drive, decided to give it one last attempt at a reboot and it it loaded up. Thankfully was able to then transfer it all out. Then did a full restore of the computer and it appears to be working okay.

I've chosen to take a short break and so won't be creating an new ones until June. Likely sometime on or after the pre-scheduled post for Amalgam Creative Arts.

 For now enjoy this old photo, that if the date is correct, is from November 2005.

Artful Adventure: Visiting the Phoenix Art Museum!

As far as I can remember this was the first time that I visited the Phoenix Art museum with #Armandzraven. These few photos of this sculpture on the outside and one of Armandzraven are the only ones taken because I didn't know if it was permitted to take photos inside.

Birthday Dinner for Ene at El Paso BBQ! ~ May 2008

By now you've likely seen some of my posts of celebrations, volunteer, and diversity events that include many of my co-workers. Some of those co-workers become friends and is one of the great things from the time I worked at Target Tempe in Tempe, Arizona. Many more to come as too many are still yet to be photo/video collaged and uploaded.

This is a photo collage from the Birthday Dinner for Ene at El Paso BBQ back on the 14th of May of 2008. Ene is one of those rare people that I've encountered in my life that is giving, generous, encouraging, and makes you feel comfortable being yourself. We started working at that particular location around the same time and worked in many of the same teams and/or departments throughout our time there.

Though now we live states apart and don't see each other often, she will always have a special place and hope nothing but the best for her and her family!

Brandy Awards 2008!

Brandy Awards 2008!

During my short time in the credit collections world at Target Tempe via a Job Enrichment Team program, I was able to attend one of the yearly events that they had at the time that they called, "Brandy Awards!"

The event was celebration of various recognitions of team members with a "Funky Awards Show" type of theme where we were encouraged to dress up in a not so serious way. Only some of us "dressed-up."

These are the few photos taken. On the first and last photos you see me dressed up in a funky way with a fluffy boa and fluffy hat made of the same boa material a loose black tie and loose fitting zebra stripe shirt. The hat and boa were from previous Halloweens, the tie I already had, and the shirt I got at a thrift store. Though you can't see it on the photos, the dress pants were embellished at the bottom with some pieces of boa fabric that #Armandzraven sewed on for me.

On the photo first my fellow Texan Co-worker Brenda. We always had a lovely time.

Interesting fact that I just remembered. On this day I received a job offer for a different department that I would begin at that same May 2008.
