Holidays 2007!

This is a photo collage of the photos taken during the Holiday season of the year 2007. They range from around the Xmas Holiday and just before the new year. It appears that I didn't take any on New Year's Eve nor Day. 

The first half are in Eagle Pass, Texas, USA and Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. The last half are back in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

December 2007 was when my maternal Grandmother passed away. Although my cousin Jerry and I traveled from Phoenix, Arizona, USA to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, border town to Eagle Pass, Texas, USA, we didn't make it to the funeral. However, we did get to spend a few days with family which was nice, specially because it had been several years without visiting during the holidays. In fact, we still didn't visit often during the holidays. Even now in 2024 when this video collage is being made and we both live closer to family, my cousin in San Antonio, Texas, USA and I in Eagle Pass, Texas, USA, we still don't get to spend much time with blood-relative family during the holidays. The reasons now not so much due to distance, but because everyone has grown up and have their own families. Perhaps one day we may have a holiday season where we can somewhat relive, if only a bit, how it was when my grandmother still lived.

The second half of the photos are back in Phoenix, Arizona, USA and it appears that I only took photos of when Sammy, who passed away in 2023, was trying out his Holiday attire. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and of the holiday decorations and cards from that year. 

Today we said farewell to the physical form of sweet Samson... Sammy as we most often called him.

His mother recently sent me this video that she took of the original VHS video recording.

This is a snippet of the 1996 Fiesta de Cumpleños, birthday party, that my Tia Gloria did for my cousins. Although their birthdays are not on the same day nor months, my aunt did a double birthday party for them. The original recording was made by me with one of those over the shoulder VHS cameras. This snippet was sent to me by another aunt, Tia Magda, who has the tape/VHS. Audio: Just the sounds of the video, party itself.

This is a photo collage of the photos that I took during my Birthday Trip 2005. We drove from Phoenix, Arizona to Eagle Pass, Texas. During the visit we went also to Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. We also took a quick trip to San Antonio, Texas and went to the river walk, the Alamo, and the wax museum. 

I did make a separate photo collage of the ones that Aaron took as well as the ones from the wax museum both from my camera and Aaron's Camera.

Mi Bella Madre ~ My Beautiful Mother

My beautiful mother passed away this past December. It's been a whirlwind of emotions. Our family and friends have been very supportive during this time. I had the last word during the burial of her ashes in Mexico. I'm not a person who shows outwardly emotion because I understand that there is a reason for anything and everything that happens, and death is currently inescapable. I'm thankful that she was peaceful during her last moments and that I was able to be by her side.


I wrote down what I said during the burial ceremony. Here's my last words:

Muchas gracias a todos los que estan aqui y los que estan presente de corazon y alma.

Por su apoyo, por su aprecio y el cariño que lebrindaron a mi madre en vida y en sus ultimos dias.

Se que en sus ultimos dias se dio cuenta lo querida que era y se fue tranquila.

Muchas gracias a mi familia por todo su apoyo.

Gracias.
