My First Tarot Deck | The Witches Tarot - The Longer Story - Vertical

My First Tarot Deck | The Witches Tarot - The Longer Story - Vertical
=========================
Photos & video for this were taken on October 25, 2026.
=========================

The short story: The Witches Tarot by Ellen Cannon Reed & Martin Cannon was my first set of Tarot cards.

The longer story: It was sometime in 1998 when I had my first Tarot Reading. My reading was done with the Rider Waite Tarot deck, probably one of the most recognized and popular decks.

Shortly after, perhaps a year or more, I decided to get my own deck and went looking for one that was uniquely different and spoke to me. The search brought me to The Witches Tarot by Ellen Cannon Reed and Illustrated by Martin Cannon. The seventh printing from 1998. Truth be told it wasn't until now that I decided to share this story that I paid attention to the origins of the deck because that piece didn't matter to me during my search. What mattered is that the cards felt natural when using them and that the illustrations evoked what a set of Tarot cards should.

An online search appears to indicate that the first printing was in 1989 and that Reed wrote a book to go with the deck called The Witches Tarot. In it, she discusses the meanings of the cards, the Qabalistic Tree of Life, pathworking and other ways to use the Witches Tarot. For me the set of cards is sufficient but perhaps the book might be in my future.

Since then I've acquired a few additional decks that have called me for different reasons which I may share in the future. The Witches Tarot is still one I reference most.

My suggestion for your first set of Tarot cards would be to choose one that calls to you and not by a particular deck's popularity or history.

This is a collection of photos from February 9th through February 26th from 2011.

00:00 This was Feb 2011!

00:01 February 9th: The bug in the drink from dinner at Macayo's Mexican Food.

00:03 February 14th: Valentine's Day Goodies from work.

00:07 February 14th: My Valentine's Day that I received from Armandzraven about a week prior to actual V-day.

00:15 February 19th: Dinner at Kabab. This may have been the first time we went to this restaurant. We would find ourselves going to it often until it closed. After dinner the moon looked fantastic, may have been full, so took a few photos of it.

00:28 February 26th: We were headed to dinner and there had been a car accident. Snapped a quick photo of on of the vehicles that had been involved.

00:31 February 26th: Dinner at Pan Asia. This might be a bit familiar as I've previously shared photos of various times a meal was enjoyed at tis restaurant. This would be the last time we would go to it because as you can see from the images, they brought out a dish on a hot plate that sizzled all over not just the table and plates but also the then work shirt of Armandzaraven.

About the photos: Some of these photos were taken with the iPod Touch 4th Generation that I had received as a gift the Xmas season and other with a Sony Cyber-Shot camera that I had at the time. The iPod Touch took okay photos as long as there was proper lighting. The Sony Cyber-Shot took better overall quality photos.

Maxine 2009-2010 Planner - 11 January 2011

Maxine 2009-2010 Planner
=========================
From January 11, 2011
=========================

For as long as I can remember I've enjoyed having a physical paper planner and have varied in designs and sized. For 2009 and 2010 I had a simple foldable planner with Maxine on the cover. As I was getting ready to discard it, for remembrance, and as part of #FotosDeCosasEliminadasParaRecordarlas I took a photo of it and a few of the inside guides which came out a little blurry.

Created by John Wagner in 1986, the Maxine cartoons are even more relevant today. In a time where stress and negativity can sometimes take over our daily lives, laughing and having fun are imperative and the Maxine cartoons bring out that joy.

Life is what you make it. I make it unbearable for as many as possible. - Maxine

Do you still use a physical planner?

War of the Vikings

War of the Vikings
=========================
From October 07, 2026
========================

War of the Vikings is a game that I acquired in 2016 via the Humble Gamepedia Online Multiplayer Bundle.

Several months ago I finally installed it in an attempt to play it only to find out that it is no longer available. Loosing the ability to play a game happens to me occasionally because it can take me a while before actually deciding to play them. Per the info found online War of the Vikings was removed from sale January 16, 2017 wit the server shutdown on February 28, 2017.

On October 7, 2026 I decided to just capture a bit of the menu as remembrance.

On this video I screen captured the game menu where I select Play Online that shows nothing available. I then proceed to select the tutorial. The tutorial is the only thing that worked to get an idea of the game. I captured here just a bit of that. I decided to include the release trailer after this.

Do you ever miss opportunities to play games? Did you ever play this game?

Audio: From the game itself.

Snacks and drinks from 7 to Eleven!

Snacks and drinks from 7 to Eleven!
=========================
From January 1-11, 2011
=========================

This is collage of photos taken in 2011 from January 7th to the 11th.

00:00 Snacks and drinks from 7 to Eleven!

00:01 January 7th: Snacks from the Cactus Cafรฉ. The Cactus Cafรฉ was the name of the cafeteria inside the building of my then place of employment. It was a great place to grab  breakfast or lunch. I had many fantastic meals from them while their. I even worked with them to create a special menu during Native American Heritage Month for a couple of years. Great times until eventually it was transitioned into a prepackaged food area with a kiosk. Unfortunately I don't think I ever took any photos of actual meals.

00:06 January 8th: Jell-o shot at Nez House and then a photo of a large light fixture at the Harrah's Ak Chin Casino.

00:10 January 9th: A photo of the coffee I was about to brew.

00:13 January 11th: A photo of the inside of a Krispy Kreme that had recently opened and image of their logo that I took a screenshot of at the time. The logo a little pixelated.

Holidays 2010!

Holidays 2010!
=========================
From December 17 - 31, 2010
=========================

Decided to make this compilation video from the photos I took during the last part of December 2010 because for some reason I didn't take as many photos this particular season.

00:00 Holidays 2010!

00:01   December 17th: The results of a white elephant gift that I wrapped. The contents were a furnace filter and a picture frame.

00:15   December 24th: The sign for Golden Buddha where we had Xmas Eve dinner.
00:20   December 24th: Entrance to 99 Cents Only Stores and the guard that didn't let me go in because I had my murse.

00:23   December 25th: Photos of a Xmas Holiday Card from Kohl's. My original intention was to take a photo or scan every card received during the holiday season but only did this one. Perhaps sometime in the future I'll do that for the ones I still have from this and various other years.

I received an iPod touch 4th generation as a gift. Fun Fact: To this day it is the only Apple handheld device I've ever had.

00:30   December 25th: The Invisible Shield Dry that I could not get to stay on properly, without bubbles, on the iPod Touch.

00:33   December 26th: Lifeworks Metallic Shield Case that I got for the iPod Touch 4th generation.

00:35   December 27th: Korean Wine in my fridge. These are the first photo and video I took with the iPod Touch 4th gen. I had previously uploaded the video just as is. Korean wine in my fridge - 27 December 2010 → https://youtube.com/shorts/RAWWUotNPXg

00:53   December 28th: Photo of a crockpot recipe. I don't remember if I made it as listed or if I substituted the beef for pork. In either case it's a simple recipe. The recipe is from a book of crockpot recipes that I received as a gift.

00:58   December 31st: I Cut myself with a dollar store vase that broke as I was hand washing it.
01:03   December 31st: Ready for tonight. The photos of the Ninja Professional blender that we got for the holidays. Pictured here ready to use it to make our New Year's Eve/Day celebration drinks.

Hope you enjoyed this brief view into my 2010 Holidays season!
