These are photos of the event we put together to celebrate the Rakhi Festival. For the event we set up a table with the materials needed in order for participants to be able to create their own embellished threads.

A brief summary of Rakhi:
Rakhi, also known as Raksha Bandhan, is a traditional Hindu festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. It typically falls on the full moon day of the Hindu lunar month of Shravana (usually in August). On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread called rakhi around their brothers' wrists, symbolizing love, protection, and lifelong commitment. In return, brothers offer gifts and promise to protect their sisters. The festival transcends biological relationships, often extending to cousins and close friends, and emphasizes the values of family, unity, and care.
